Cruise in style on a converted vintage barge

Our vessel was built in 1930 at the Boot shipyard in Leiden. At the time of her launching she was one of the first Dutch-built luxury motor barges intended specifically for the inland waterways.

Originally christened the Adelaar, she underwent several name changes and during her final years as a freight barge she was known as the Frisica II.

She was used mainly for the transport of sand and gravel in the Netherlands and Germany, but in 2001 she was converted to a passenger ship and re-christened the Merlijn.
